De-escalation and deployment training

– Safe and ready for action on position & patrol –

De-escalating communication is a key competence not only for security personnel in the guarding sector. Here, de-escalation techniques are superior to the use of other means. Especially the use of physical force or coercive measures in the final stages.

However, if these coercive measures are necessary, appropriate and proportionate, it is also important to always observe self-security principles regarding the conflict situation from the beginning to the end.

The police operation training of the Hamburg Police Academy as well as multiple certified and state-recognised technical schools for security services and the guarding trade had a great influence on this.

The Idea and Vision

Maintaining the ability to act, by closing knowledge gaps &
The sustainable reduction of violence within our society, through education!

De-escalation training is more of a team sport than a competitive training like a martial art. In a team, one proceeds in a coordinated and tactical manner to achieve a common goal. This can involve interference with fundamental rights. Therefore, rules, laws and guidelines must be adhered to and justifications must be found. Uncertainty and serious danger to life are the central focus, as the opposing party (disruptor) often acts unpredictably and without being bound by rules or tactics. In principle, it is important to react to the actions of the disruptive party in a way that is appropriate to the situation, in terms of necessity and proportionality! De-escalation focuses more on the process than the result. Whereas here, deployment focuses directly on the result, such as overcoming a present danger in the form of a fist punch.

KLAUSUR Scheme (principles of self-protection)

The 'KLAUSUR Scheme' is one of the basic principles of the police and is used for self-protection. The individual letters of the word KLAUSUR each contain a principle for self-protection. This is a mnemonic aid and memory aid for the spectator, which must be observed in every operation in order not to endanger himself and his comrades!

Trapezoidal Line-Up

The trapezoid formation originates from police operational training, should be used by security service providers in the guarding business and is used to approach a group of disruptors in the right way. In this explanatory video, some troublemakers spray the walls with cans of spray paint. Since the described case takes place on the premises of some security guards, the security guards decide to intervene in the incident and arrest the disruptors in order to be able to ascertain their personal details in the end!

S-Line-Up

The S-Line-Up is a tactical approach used by the police. It enables dynamic conflict situations to be managed. If, for example, you and your partner as security staff encounter one or more troublemakers who are behaving in an increasingly aggressive manner, the S-position makes it possible to counter the situation in terms of self-protection. The S-position is particularly suitable for use in building entrances or confined spaces.

Z-Line-Up

The Z-Line-Up is a tactical approach used by the police. It enables dynamic conflict situations between two disruptive parties to be managed. If, for example, a security guard and his partner meet two troublemakers who are fighting each other, the Z-position method makes it possible to stop the confrontation. In this case, all contact between the disruptors is to be interrupted. The mere presence of the opposing party, as with an object of aggression located in the same room, can continuously trigger aggression or frustration.

L-Line-Up

The L-Line-Up is a self-protection principle. The contents highlighted in the learning video should be observed in any case during an operation in order not to put oneself and one's colleagues in danger!

L-Stellung 2 [Fortsetzung]

V-Stance

The V-Stance is a self-protection principle. The contents highlighted in the learning video should be observed in any case during an operation in order not to put oneself and one's colleagues in danger!

Distance Zones

The four following distance zones describe us in our constellation towards another person: Intimate Zone, Personal Zone, Social Zone, Public Zone.

Active Listening

The sender-receiver model and verbal and non-verbal communication explain what is known as active listening. Examples of this are gestures and facial expressions, sounds of confirmation, weighing up and summarising.

Conversation management

Conversation management is of elementary importance when it comes to de-escalating conflict situations.

Record with crack

The method sound palette with jump serves the procedure of being able to enforce one's order against a disturber.
