Einsatztraining

Operational training

– Ready for action and capable of responding while on duty and on patrol –

In particular, the use of physical force or coercive measures in the final stage.

However, if these coercive measures are necessary, appropriate and proportionate, intrinsic safety principles must also be observed throughout the conflict situation, from start to finish.

The master's programme in ‘Police Operations Training’ at the Hamburg Police Academy, as well as multiple certified and state-recognised technical colleges for security services and the security industry, had a major influence here.

Trailer & Videos

Operational training is more of a team sport than competitive training, as in martial arts. In a team, you proceed in a coordinated and tactical manner to achieve a common goal. This may involve infringing on fundamental rights. Therefore, it is important to comply with rules, laws and regulations and to provide justification. Uncertainty and serious danger to life are the central focus, as the opposing party (disturbers) often acts unpredictably and without regard for rules or tactics. In principle, it is important to respond to the actions of the disruptive party in a manner appropriate to the situation, in terms of necessity and proportionality! De-escalation focuses more on the process than the result. Whereas here, the focus is directly on the result, such as overcoming a present danger in the form of a punch.

Grundlagen Einsatztraining

KLAUSUR Scheme (principles of self-protection)

The 'KLAUSUR Scheme' is one of the basic principles of the police and is used for self-protection. The individual letters of the word KLAUSUR each contain a principle for self-protection. This is a mnemonic aid and memory aid for the spectator, which must be observed in every operation in order not to endanger himself and his comrades!

TV-Stellung & Falltechniken

The correct ‘falling technique’ is crucial to avoid injuries. First, the height of the fall should be minimised and you should fall onto large muscle groups such as the thighs and upper arms, while avoiding direct impact on the joints. Once on the ground, the ‘TV position’, in which the legs and arms are positioned in front of the body, provides protection. When an attacker approaches, switch to the ‘guard position’ to create distance with your feet. ‘Safe standing up’ is done backwards, using the TV position and a kick. Alternatively, ‘intuitive standing up’ can be done on all fours – always with cover (‘forearms & hands’) and ‘environmental control’.

Schutzhand & Aktionshand

The correct use of the ‘protective hand and action hand’ is crucial for effective deployment techniques. While the ‘action hand’ is responsible for the actual attack, the use of equipment or striking and levering techniques, the ‘protective hand’ serves to secure, control and defend. The protective hand can ward off attacks, stabilise balance or steer the opponent in a specific direction while the action hand carries out a targeted measure.

Koppel & PSA

A security guard without a full-fledged belt is like a firefighter without a breathing mask! Not ready for action in an emergency. Personal protective equipment (PPE) can be positioned on the belt as desired, according to its purpose and by attaching pockets. It is important that PPE is positioned on the belt so that it is readily available in an emergency situation. It must be possible to quickly remove it from the pockets and immediately put it into action or use it effectively.

Grundlagen Einsatztraining

Trapezoidal Line-Up

The ‘trapezoid formation’ originates from police training exercises, is intended to be used by security service providers in the security industry, and serves to correctly approach a group of troublemakers. In this explanatory video, several troublemakers are spraying graffiti on walls. As the case study described takes place on the premises of several security guards, the security guards decide to intervene and detain the troublemakers in order to ultimately establish their identities.

S-Line-Up

The ‘S-position’ is a tactical approach used by the police. It enables dynamic conflict situations to be managed. For example, if you and your partner, as security guards, encounter one or more troublemakers who are becoming increasingly aggressive, the S-position enables you to counter the situation in terms of self-defence. This formation is particularly effective in building entrances or confined spaces.

Z-Line-Up

The ‘Z position’ is a tactical approach used by the police. It enables dynamic conflict situations between two disruptive parties to be managed. For example, if a security guard and their partner encounter two disruptive individuals who are fighting each other, the Z position method can be used to stop the altercation. The aim is to interrupt any contact between the disruptive individuals. The mere presence of the opposing party, like an object of aggression in the same room, can continuously trigger aggression or frustration.

L-Line-Up

The ‘L position’ represents a principle of self-protection. The content highlighted in the instructional video should always be observed during use in order to avoid putting yourself and your colleagues in danger!

L-Position [continuation]

This sequel, ‘L-Position 2’, deals with how to deal with the scene shown at the end of the instructional video ‘L-Position’ (https://youtu.be/NWCSjKwQM4Q). In this scene, the troublemaker used a bottle as a dangerous projectile. As shown in the video, this could have been prevented in order to avoid putting himself and his colleagues in danger!

V-Stance

The ‘V position’ is an intrinsic safety principle. The content highlighted in the instructional video should always be observed during use in order to avoid putting yourself and your colleagues in danger!

Our idea and vision

Maintaining the ability to act in conflict situations by closing knowledge gaps. As well as the sustainable reduction of violence within our society through the provision of education!

De-escalating communication is a key competence not only for security personnel in the guarding sector. Here, de-escalation techniques are superior to the use of other means. Especially the use of physical force or coercive measures in the final stages.
